Iconography

This is my newest exploration, it’s a world where i go back in time, back to basics back to the past, a process hundreds of years old. Im still learning in this field. Ive been mentored for the past six years by the talented Maureen Quinn an expert iconographer with decades of experience. I fell head first into this ancient process of egg tempera painting. The graphic shapes the purest of lines the richest of colours and the simple beauty of it. Using traditional techniques dating back centuries, The process of gessoing, prepping the boards applying 24c gold leaf.
The multitude of subjects and models to work from, It is a true labour of love.
